Dexter star Michael C. Hall diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma

So I have a bone to pick with Mr. Hall!
In every article I have read, he refers to Hodgkin's Lymphoma as being "Imminently Curable and treatable". He keeps making comments that the Hodge is not that big of a deal. People still die from this shit Dexter!
I think in order for him to make this up to me, he needs to arrange a small walk on role for me on Dexter...

Posted from a news release:
Michael Hall, an actor who has played a role on a number of TV shows including Six Feet Under and Dexter has reportedly been battling cancer. He announced the news yesterday, but did not say when he was diagnosed.

"I feel fortunate to have been diagnosed with an imminently treatable and curable condition, and I thank my doctors and nurses for their expertise and care," Hall, 38, said Wednesday in a statement. His medical team is based in the Los Angeles area.

His spokesman, Craig Bankey, said Hall’s cancer is in remission but the actor will continue scheduled treatments.

Mr. Hall and his wife "Dexter" costar Jennifer Carpenter plan to attend Sunday's Golden Globes as Hall's dominated for the best dramatic actor and the show as the best drama. He is nominated for his role as Dexter Morgan, a serial killer working with the police.

He also plans to attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards the following Saturday, where Hall and the cast are also nominated. He will return to shooting the fifth season of Dexter later this year.

His father died of cancer when Hall was eleven years old.

Happy New Year! I am working on improving my blogroll- Cancer Blogs - at Being Cancer Network where your own blog is presently listed. One of the things I want to do is to improve the 800 blog entries, making them more useful for readers.

Check to see if information is correct. Please let me know your specific cancer diagnosis - the medical term. Also the year you were diagnosed and anything else you think is relevant for the listing such as a transplant. If you have written a book or memoir, I can feature it in a special Cancer Book List section. Please include the name of your blog in the email so I can put the information in the correct listing.

It would also really, really help if you could let me know of any cancer blogs that are not on my list. Thanks in advance.

Cancer Blogs I & II has been a very popular (over 8000 visits) and valuable resource for folks. It allows people to view what others with a similar diagnoses have gone through. And it brings additional attention and traffic to survivor’s blogs. It is helping to build a strong, vibrant community of survivors.

Please consider adding Being Cancer Network to your blogroll if you have not already done so. I am now following you on Blogged.

Please see my January 10 post - New Year’s New Face - for additional changes in the website. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year.

Of Course Michael C. Hall is down-playing the severity of his cancer. He has a lead role in an incredibly successful cable television series. And producers and executives scare easily. He's not going to go blabbering about how close to death he could have come or how weak he is from chemo. He's going to say he's fit for shooting the fifth season. That's the beast of the business.

You can't fault him for thinking positively! I am a Dexter fan, and his work is very good. I hope that he (and all of us) find healing. I am a cancer survivor and I work for ChiliTechnology. The ChiliPad is a great invention for people who have medical conditions that make them too hot to sleep - it's a cooling mattress pad. You can set any temp. you want down to 46 degrees. It also heats - if you need that. Unlike the electric blanket it keeps the electromagnetic field far away from the body - so doesn't increase your risk of cancer or get in the way of healing. It really helped me during chemo when I was getting sweats and chills.

Just found your blog - and I really enjoyed reading it! You are very right - Hall shouldn't have made that comment - Hodgkin's isn't curable in all cases. Looking forward to reading more soon.

DUDE. Your blog rules. I'm so glad I stumbled upon it. My sister has just been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and it's refreshing to read your blog. Take care.

what do you expect him to do, be one of those cancer patients who just want people to feel sorry for him all the time or be a stronger person so that people can focus on his work and not his cancer. Having been diagnosed with ALL twice in my life once when 7 other when 17 i know the last thing people want is everyone feeling sorry for ones self.
